Continuous Span Beams are beams supported at three or more points along their length. The conditions under which lumber is used in construction may vary widely, as does the quality of workmanship. Depending on its width, depth, and load parameters, an LVL beam can span up to 80-feet. The layers are heated, glued, and pressed together in different widths or thicknesses, and then cut to depths to meet various load requirements. Accordingly, neither SFPA, nor its members, warrant that the design values on which the span tables for Southern Pine lumber contained herein are based are correct, and specifically disclaim any liability for injury or damage resulting from the use of such span tables. Other manufacturers LVL may have different properties and therefore cannot be designed using these span tables.
